This page outlines some preset instruments users can select when creating exchanges. They will have a description as well as parameters that will be input for the data generation.
Common Parameters
These are parameters that exist on ALL instruments
- Name + Ticker
- Tick Size (minimum interval between bids)
- i.e. a tick size of $5 means you could only buy at $5, $10, $15 etc.
- Position Limit
- Integer of the maximum you can be long/short an instrument.
Bonds
- Simple instrument (fixed price)
- The bond should trade around this fixed price at all times. Sometimes it will go slightly below or above this fair price, but it will always be centered around the fair price.
- We will not worry about macro effects, i.e. effects of interest rates.
Parameters
- Fixed theo price
- Volatility (standard deviation)
Typical Bond
- May cost $100
- Would cycle between maybe $97 to $103 (but would mostly trade around $99 to $101)

- Can trend upwards/downwards
